Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!
Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody!
With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD!
Psalm 98
The music ministry at Old Otterbein United Methodist Church is dedicated to enriching our worship experience with music. Our congregation is encouraged to join joyfully in praise by singing hymns accompanied by organ or, at times, piano, horn, trumpet or flute.
The Choral Ensemble at Old Otterbein United Methodist Church consists of talented members of our congregation who enjoy making a joyful noise to the Lord. The ensemble preforms the second and fourth Sunday of each month between September and May. Rehearsals are held before the 10:30 am Sunday worship service. If you sing, have sung in a choir, or would like to sing in an ensemble, you are welcome to participate by attending a rehearsal. Auditions are not required.
The music ministry also provides an opportunity to anyone who is interested in sponsoring or dedicating an anthem. A donation of $35.00 will enable the purchase of a choral anthem which will be stamped with the names of the sponsor and the person who is being honored. Also, whenever the anthem is sung, the sponsor and honoree will be noted in the bulletin.
Our summer music ministry provides opportunities for individuals and ensembles. Our beautiful sanctuary is filled with the sound of vocal solos and duets, as well as instrumentalists twice every month between June and August.
